I am teaching guitar lessons in Ventura, California for all levels, beginning to advanced. I have 15 years of experience
teaching in various universities and 20 years of teaching experience. My education was both formal at the Berklee College
of Music and "by ear" as I have learned as much by listening to recordings and watching musicians "live". That combination
was crucial to my development as a musician and guitarist so I believe firmly in my ability and responsibility to be a part
of the process in helping others learn.
Primarily I teach one on one with students and can address all areas of guitar stuff. Theory as it applies
to pop, rock, jazz, blues, soul, world and country etc. I also work on stylistic issues, equipment, song-writing,
arranging and music business depending on the students level and interest. We can also work on learning songs or riffs
that the student is most interested in. I encourage them to bring their favorite music with them so we can listen to it and
that helps me tailor lessons to fit a student's individual needs.
Another area of instruction that
I am doing quite a bit is coaching bands, usually rock bands but could be any style, helping young people learn how
to work together in a band, how to arrange, dynamics, equipment, how to develop repetoire, performances
considerations, how to get gigs etc.
I am excited to announce that I am now teaching online
to students faraway, even in other cities, states or other countries. As long as you have skype on your computer we
can communicate in real time. So, any former students that are interested in resuming studiers may contact me about
these online lessons!!
I have my own guitar instruction book as well as a music theory book that I make available to my students for a nominal
charge.

Potential students need to bring their own acoustic guitar and I recommend spare strings, picks and a tuner as well.
